1. Introduction

Welcome to Notary Mentor ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Notary Mentor website, application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all of the Terms, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time, and continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

3. Description of Service

Notary Mentor is a supplementary notary training platform that provides adaptive quizzes, an AI tutor, progress tracking, and state-specific educational content. The Service is designed to supplement — not replace — any officially mandated notary training, education, examination, or certification programs.

Notary Mentor does NOT fulfill, satisfy, or substitute for any state-mandated approved education, seminar, exam, or certification requirement. Examples of state-mandated programs that Notary Mentor does not replace include, but are not limited to:

• California (CA) 6-hour Secretary of State-approved notary course
• Florida (FL) 3-hour state-approved notary education course
• Pennsylvania (PA) 3-hour approved notary education program
• Texas (TX) Secretary of State-approved notary training courses
• Any state-specific RON (Remote Online Notarization) training requirements
• Any state bar, secretary of state, or governor-office-mandated notary seminars or exams

You are solely responsible for verifying and completing all official requirements in your jurisdiction.

4. User Accounts

To access most features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@notary-mentor.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

5. Subscription & Billing

Notary Mentor offers the following subscription plans:

• Monthly Plan: $19 per month
• Annual Plan: $179 per year

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card or payment information on our servers. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis in accordance with our refund policy.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, quizzes, AI tutor responses, and software — are owned by Notary Mentor or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content without our express written permission.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Share your account credentials with others
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
• Misrepresent completion of Notary Mentor training as fulfillment of state-mandated requirements
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

8. AI Tutor Disclaimer

The AI Tutor feature is powered by artificial intelligence and is scoped exclusively to educational content related to notary training. While we strive for accuracy, the AI Tutor may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. You should always verify information from official state sources and consult qualified legal professionals for legal advice. Notary Mentor is not liable for any decisions made based on AI Tutor responses.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Notary Mentor and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Notary Mentor and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, though provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Effective Date." Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
